VIAMICHELIN JAVASCRIPT API


Preface

API Javascript ViaMichelin gives you access to the different services of ViaMichelin, through specific components. The components allow you to :

-       display a map,

-       to calculate a route,

-       to search for an address,

-       to get data points and points of interest (refer to the definition below).

The API must be used with a KEY number provided by Michelin which allows you to activate the functionalities.

Quickstart guides

  • Geocoding

This component allows you to get data points from a textual address. You can use the reverse option to get an address from geographic coordinates.

Start with the component by following the quickstart guide.

  • Map

        This component allows you to display a ViaMichelin map on a website. Thanks to several parameters, the map can be completed with options. For example, by displaying paths, points of interest and graphical objects.

  • Route planner

The itinerary component allows you to calculate  the road path between two points, and displays it on the map or on a roadmap, depending on the means of transport. It takes into account the following means : car, walking , cycling and a route as a crow flies. You will be able to adapt the itinerary with several parameters, for example by mentionning to avoid or not tolls or a step on the way.

  • Completion address

The completion component suggests you addresses when the user starts to type the first letters of his request on the input field.

You can launch quickly the completion functionality by following the quickstart guide.

  • Poi Request  

The points of interest component targets all facilities, located around a precise address, which have a common point on their activity, for example, all restaurants or hotels located around a geographic data. Those data points are available through the ViaMichelin catalog and can be extracted from a customer database.
